In this work, we have investigated the problem of CSI feedback in a cellular OFDMA system. We have proposed a method for CSI feedback using UL random access which provides a variable collision protection depending on the importance of the CSI to feedback, while reducing the amount of feedback overhead. Our numerical results have shown that, with the Max CSI algorithm, the best throughput could be achieved with our proposed scheme compared to conventional reporting schemes.
