The purpose of this paper is to give perspectives to three tasks : (1) to enumerate various principles on corporate governance that exist in the world (2) to clarify on mutual relationships and major currents among these principles; and (3) to point out frameworks and goals of those principles in the 21 st century. In order to re-think these three tasks, in the first place, the author collects all principles in the world, shows the importance of major and influential principles, and integrates the process of working them out. In the second place, he clarifies upon the genealogy of the principles that have been created since the early 1990's to present and brings current trends to light. Then, he indicates the frameworks and goals in the 21 st century, by examining accords and practices in international conferences and by studying the current statuses of principles that outsiders and managers have created.
