Objective of this study is to improve a method of lecture in science and engineering course. In order to practice a self-evaluation and improvement of lecture, at first it is necessary to investigate the actual intention of students. Furthermore, it is important to consider educational principles, for example, what is need for students or which is the direction to be to guide students. Followings are contents of this report. 1) Evaluation of lecture, "Automation Engineering" by students was carried out by means of a description and a marking. Based on the investigation, improvement of the lecture for four years was explained. 2) The "Exercises of Intelligent Mechanics" was introduced to a curriculum in department of Intelligent Mechanics from 1996. Considering typical faults with present-day students, in the lecture the chief aim was a training of the power of understanding and an advancement of motivation for study. 3) In the lecture "Exercises of Intelligent Mechanics", followings were main subject. Fundamentals of mechanics Technical writing What do you study in a university? Effects of these attempts is being proved.
