The concept of "eros" is the central issue in the Plato's philosophy as well as the core of his system of philosophy. In his thought, λογοζ and βιοζ, and φιλοσοφια and παιδεια are respectively considered as undividable entireties and "eros" which is the basic idea of his philosophy should also be the central concept in his pedagogy. The development of eros should mean philosophical life itself and show the substance of education. From this viewpoint, an attempt of renewed inquiry into the nature of eros may provide us with an old yet new indicator with a useful clue to the study on the nature of education.
