The purpose of this report was to explore the relation between the indoor environment and the way of dwelling in the rental multiple-houses for singles. In this paper, first of all, analyses were made on the relation between the damage by the mold and the way of dwelling. The results were as follows: (1) The persons nearly 50% of the subjects hang the washing indoors to dry. More persons do so in rainy days than in sunny days, and more women than men. But as a whole men were nonchalant to hanging the laundry indoors than women. (2) To blow off steam, the ventilators of bathrooms and kitchens were suitably used and the windows of bathrooms were suitably opened in many cases. But men were more nonchalant to letting off steam than women. (3) 12% oh the subjects were molding their rooms and, 15% of then smell their rooms moldy. The most molding places were bathrooms. (4) The conditions of the mold were clasely related to the character of the room and the way of dwelling. Especially men lived nonchalant to steam and to working off steam, so they were apt to grow the mold. To prevent the occurring of the condensation and growing the mold, it was necessary that the dwellers should pay attention to the way of dwelling and that the house owners should duide the dwellers to the suitable way of dwelling.
