The role of the handoff procedure is already a key process in current systems and it is foreseen to gain increasing importance in the fourth generation cellular systems. In order to enhance the handoff efficiency this paper presents an adaptive multi-frequency vertical handoff (MFVHO) decision algorithm. A comparison with conventional handoff method in the same environment is also performed.
