Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) are considered as the key materials for high performance of advanced gas-generators which is achieved by the higher turbine operational temperature with less cooling air. SiC/SiC 3-D CMC bladed disk was rotated by exposing blade section to the hot gas stream. The bladed disk was joined to the metallic shaft, by newly designed curvic coupling and spring mechanism, to absorb relative displacement and keep them coaxial. When maximum gas temperature was 973K, CMC bladed disk rotated at 30,000rpm as planed. There was no vibration and no damage. This shows newly designed CMC-metal joint mechanism worked properly. And these results tell us that the developed 3-D CMCs are potentially applicable to rotating turbine components.
