TS-49 Large Eddy Simulation of a Two-Dimensional Impinging Jet on Flat Plate(Session C-2 Heat Transfer 2)

Large eddy simulation (LES) based on the Cartesian coordinates is applied to solve two-dimensional impinging jet on flat plate. The turbulent model was tuned by the comparison of LES and DNS results of two dimensional parallel channel flow. The results show that the strong non-isotropic turbulent flow field is generated within the impingement jet region of the two-dimensional impinging jet near the target wall. The comparison of the temperature and velocity distribution between Hishida's detail experimental results using DPIV and LIF for impinging two dimensional jet and present analysis has been conducted. Not only the temperature and velocity distribution but also the temperature and velocity fluctuation of the numerical results agree well with Hishida's experimental one. Detail mechanism of heat transfer is clarified by this LES analysis. The results of the two-dimensional impinging jet analysis by LES will be presented.
