The load factor of electric power facilities decreases year by year. Therefore, the necessity for developing a new electric power storing technology rises, and there are various methods considered. It is thought that CAES (Compressed Air Energy Storage) is the nearest practical use in these methods. To put CAES to practical use in Japan, we designed an efficient CAES power generation system which applied the ACC (Advanced Combined Cycle) power generation technologies. The conceptual design of this ACC-CAES power generation plant was performed to prove that this system is able to achieve both the electric power storing efficiency and the economy of pumping power generation
