The Advanced Material Gas-Generator (AMG) R & D Project was initiated in 1993 as a ten-year program with a joint investment from the Japan Key Technology Center and fourteen participating domestic companies. The program objective is to establish basic key technologies for next generation gas-generator, one which meets important social and environmental requirements of the coming 21st century. This paper concerns the low NO_x combustor, which is one of the main themes of AMG R & D Project. Our goal is 70〜80% reduction of NO_x emissions as compared with the conventional combustors. To achieve this goal, we employ the lean premixing prevaporizing (LPP) combustor. This paper, introduces one of the LPP combustors under the investigations, namely multiple fuel nozzle type combustor. The main subject of this paper is on the experimental study of LPP fuel injectors to attain a lean and uniform fuel-air mixture.
