Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES) have delivered 14MW gas turbine cogeneration plant to Messrs. Konishiroku Photo Industries Co., Ltd. Hino Plant in December 1986. The gas turbine being primary mover on the cogeneration plant is Mitsui Model SB-60, accomplishing the generating efficiency of 32% at the generator terminal, which is a highest class for heavy duty. The boiler is double pressure type composing high and low pressure boiler. Namely, steam generated on the former is injected into the combustor of gas turbine for taking measure to low NO_x emission of gas turbine and the latter has an evaporation capacity of 45 tons per hour of steam and steam generated is supplied to the heating resource of the film manufacturing plant. As regards fuel, both city gas and A heavy fuel oil are used, and either sole or dual burning can be made. The consumption of city gas is about 5,000Nm^3/h, which suggests that the cogeneration plant utilizing city gas is situated at the largest plant in Japan.
