A prototype high bypass ratio turbofan engine designated FJR710/600 has been developed in the second phase of National Research and Development Program of the Japanese Government. The engine was designed and manufactured on the technical basis accumulated in the first phase of the program and component researches in universities and laboratories. Extensive running tests according to airworthiness standards were conducted to assure the design goal of high stability, endurance and reliability. General description of the engine and engine running tests will be given along with some component researches.
