• In a geological survey in the river, the drilling rig was installed on the drum raft at the plan stage. However, the temporary staging for construction was used at the time of the re-examination. The weaker lithologic character was estimated because of the unrest of the drilling rig put on the drum raft. Re-design with the data obtained by re-examination was conducted. As a result, the dimensions of the caisson foundations became small. Since geological survey have large effects upon construction costs, the uncertain factors need to be eliminated and it is necessary to improve an accuracy of the investigation.
