Output in high-volume production facilities is limited by the bottleneck machines. We propose a control mechanism by modeling workstations as agents that pull jobs based on their current WIP level and requirements from other agents. During the failure where the flow of some kind of jobs is disrupted, the agents pull alternative jobs to keep utilization of their capacity at a high level. In this paper we empirically show that the proposed mechanism can react to the failures more appropriately than other control mechanisms.
