A deblocking filter in H.264 decoder has the problem with a high computational load. Therefore, we propose an alternative method of the deblocking filtering to reduce the load of the decoder without degrading the coded image quality. The block noise caused in the coded image is reduced by encoding the image that is compensated by adding appropriate compensation value to the original image. Some experimental results show that the coded image quality is improved rather than the unfiltered coded image.
