In my previous paper (2003) concerning the perfective aspect in Beowulf it was pointed out that habban is overwhelmingly used as an auxiliary verb of so-called compound tenses and that there is no instance of a perfect passive compound tense which is profusely found in the literature of Middle English. Therefore in this paper our interest is focused upon the usage of a perfect passive compound tense in Middle English.
