A Possible Solution of the SO(2N+1) SCF Equation

A method of determining the Lagrange multipliers in the boson Hamiltonian to select out the physical fermion subspace is proposed in the classical limit, i.e., the c-number limit of the Lie operators. Then we get the SO(2N+1) self-consistent field (SCF) equation for the classical stationary motion of fermion systems. Decomposing parameters of an SO(2N+1) matrix into the amplitudes describing paired and unpaired modes of fermions, we obtain a new form of the SO(2N+1) SCF equation with respect to the paired mode amplitudes. It includes the effects of unpaired modes. The new equation is applied to the schematic model of nuclei with the pairing plus separable quadrupole interactions and is solved with a method analogous to Baranger's one for the usual Hartree-Bogoliubov (HB) equation.
