International Student Center has provided the weekend home stay program to International Student of our university. August 2003, and until June 2006 we have sent students' 9 times on this program, with 189 International Students joining. Followings are the points that became clear by analysis of the application forms and the comments we received from the participants. 1. Many of the participants were International Student who have not lived in Japan long. The rate of the participants who belong to Special programs such as short term exchange students are high. On the other hand the rate of the regular undergraduate students or graduate students are low. 2. The participants hope to know daily Japanese life and traditional culture through home stay. They also hope for interaction with host families. 3. After home stay was realized, many participants said that they were not only enjoyed their new experiences but also impressed by the hospitality of the host families and satisfied with getting to know them. 4. In the home stay, some international students got new and good images of Japan and Japanese people that were different from the one they had held before. There are some students who have continued to keep in touch with their host families.
