• Mathematical exchanges between China and Korea can be traced back to an early period. On the basis of certain sources, this paper reviews the intercourse in this field between the two countries from the 4th century AD to the 17th. Also presented are some new investigations into the Chinese mathematical classics which were transmitted to the Korean Peninsula. We also analyse the unique significance of the mathematical exchanges between China and Korea in cultural history.
