We propose a new type of effective interaction suitable for a model-space calculation of finite nuclei. Starting with a realistic NN-potential, we reduce its model-space with the use of a unitary transformation thereby obtaining the effective NN-potential. The unitary operator is chosen so that only the hardcore in the central force is eliminated; the tensor force is essentially invariant. We expect that the tensor force can be taken into account to a good extent by using a parity-mixed single-particle state in a model-space calculation.
