The theme of this thesis is the problem of "acceptance of disability" of a mentally disordered person. In Japan Ueda pioneered this theme, but his theory has been criticized since. This thesis examines these critiques. And it examines the case in which a mentally disordered person translates his sense of value through the experience of suffering and begins to live a new life. And it discusses the sense of suffering in acceptance of disability. It also disputes the idea that a mentally disordered person's prejudice to his own disease prevents his "acceptance of disability". Furthermore in this paper it is argued that attitude of the family toward a mentally disordered person and the social interaction of mentally disordered persons affects the "acceptance of disability"
