Tatsuzo Ishikawa caused a controversy about "freedom" in middle part of 1950's.Many intellectuals announced dissenting opinions about "The World Changed" and "An Enemy of Freedom" which were written by Ishikawa. Why did an opinion of a novelist such as Ishikawa become a big problem? Because Ishikawa was a best-seller who was good at a serial story in a newspaper. He had a lot of devoted readers. Even if contents are worthless, it was considered that his remark was important. Through a popular writer named Tatsuzo Ishikawa, I want to argue about a relation of the mass media and literature.
