This paper researches on modeling the wideband channel for the ground-air communication with low elevation antenna. In this system, the Base Station (BS) serves the orientation tracking to the aircrafts (i.e. the mobile station: MS) by installing directional antennas on the BS and omni-directional antennas on the MS. The elevation of the BS antenna gradually reduces along with the communication distance increasing. The transmitted signals suffer multi-path fading of frequency selectivity as well as time selectivity. In modeling and analyzing the channel with multi-path fading, we take these factors into account such as Rice factor, distribution for azimuth and delay power spectra, Doppler power spectrum and the correlation between antennas. The channel model has been used for exploring the algorithms of ground-air communications.
