The channel of wide band wireless communications between an aircraft and a ground station is often has serious multi-path fading effect, while its channel model is quite different from that of the ground cellular wideband mobile communication systems, so that Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is not very suitable. This paper endeavors to explore the feasibility of Orthogonal Time Division Multiplexing (OTDM) applied to this case, which is defined and realized by means of the shift orthogonal property of the Golay complementary sequences. Theoretical analysis and simulation experimental results suggest that the OTDM is feasible for this case as well as other multi-path fading environments.
