The SU(2) gauge theory in a nonlinear gauge is studied. An auxiliary field which represents -B+igc×c is introduced at a cutoff scale. It is shown that this field has a non-zero vacuum expectation value under a scale μ_0 in three and four dimensions. In four dimensions, we find that μ_0 coincides with the QCD scale parameter.
