The zero mode equation of the Dirac operator with SU(3) gauge fields is studied. We consider the gauge field configurations which include SU(3) field monopoles as a special case. If there are three-dimensionally normalizable zero modes, these gauge field configurations contribute to spontaneous breakdown of chiral symmetry. We find there exists such a configuration. However, this configuration has no clear relation with SU(3) gauge field monopoles.
