For this thesis, I have undertaken a study focusing on South Korean wives who haveentered into international marriages with Japanese men and are living in cities in Japan.The research was undertaken on the process of their adaptation from Korean culture toJapanese culture, with the help of 26 Korean wives who answered questions about their wayof life in Japan. The answers were compared between those who are living in cities and thoseliving in the country for the following categories.1. Food culture in the family2. Neighbor relations3. Relations with parents-in-laws on the husband's side4. The degree of their husbands'understanding of Korean culture5. The degree of their satisfaction with their lives in Japan6. ReligionThe results show that there is a difference in relations with parents- in- laws on thehusband's side and satisfaction with their lives, and that those living in cities are less satisfiedwith their lives than those living in the country.However, it is evident that all participants share a positive outlook and an earnestcommitment towards living in Japan.
