A new "source generalization" procedure is applied to a 2+1 dimensional Sasa-Satsuma equation based on the Hirota bilinear form. As a result, the 2+1 dimensional Sasa-Satsuma equation with selfconsistent sources (SSESCS) and its Gramm-type determinant solutions are obtained.
