整形外科病棟における下肢運動障害がある高齢者のリハビリテーションへの看護師の関わり

The objective of this study was to describe how nurses' care for elderly patients who were undergoing rehabilitation for physical disability of their legs in orthopedic unit. Three nurses with orthopedic clinical experiences were participated. Data were collected by semi-structured interview and categorized. The findings of category were into three groups: 1) To recognize patients' conditions or anxieties, and set up situations suitable for their needs. Nurses recognized conditions or anxieties of patients, who were in the aftermath of injury, in pain or dementia, and set up situations suitable for patients' needs. 2) To care for patients improving their abilities to perform the ADL (activities of daily living), as thinking patients to meet accidents or get complications. Nurses took care for patients as they thought patients anxieties and difficulties, as well as nurses thought possibilities of patients meet accidents or get complications. 3) To imagine patients' daily lives at home and tell patients how improve their abilities to perform the ADL. Nurses recognized lifestyles of patients and families and told patients what they take care for at home after discharge.
