Since the fouling generated inside a pipe of the chemistry plant equipment etc. shortens the life of the whole pipe equipment, periodical maintenance such as cleaning or exchange is needed. Therefore, the development of the method of preventing the corrosion and blockage inside a pipe safely and sanitarily is desired in these years. In this research, the vibration system, composed of a bolt-clamped Langevin transducer and a pipe, was employed in order to study the possibility of fouling removal experimentally. In the experiment, the flexural vibration was excited in a pipe with the fouling by ultrasonic waves. When made the pipe vibrate with the calcium carbonate as the fouling, it was shown that the fouling was diffused into the air except for the node part of the flexural vibration and the fouling was removed completely. Also, result showed that the higher input voltage to a transducer was effective to remove the fouling.
