There is a humiliating fact that mainstream economics is considered to be 'boring' and 'useless' by both laymen and experts because it is believed to be hardly relevant to reality. Moreover another well-known embarrassing fact is that a lot of economists are not loyal to the economic discipline. An analysis of these facts argues that the latter betrayal of standard economic theories by economists themselves must cause the wrong understanding of economics. Scrutinizing various opinions of masters of economics on current economics, however, the allegation that economics is irrelevant to reality seems to be true. In addition to this, realizing implicit but fundamental premises of the methodology of mainstream economics, which have never been questioned officially, a grave problem of this discipline is found: the ontology of economic reality has never been considered seriously. Only by assuming the current fundamental premises are not met by nature of reality, the real cause of these disconcerting facts are understood.
