LNG plant owners, pressed to maintain competitiveness in the global market and to minimize CO_2 emissions into the air, require the most cost effective and environment-friendly LNG plant. In order to meet the requirements, the application of motor-driven compressor in LNG plant instead of gas turbine-driven compressor is a promising alternative since the plant availability is expected to increase. The application of co-generation, and combined cycle in the electric power generation system is an economically viable alternative in case the credit of CO_2 is taken into account. Acid gas sequestration becomes more competitive if the credit of CO_2 is higher.
