As internationalism advances, English education is drawing attention as one means for international communication, and various experiments are being made. This is a new age for English education. As part of this process, practice teaching is also being restudied, and a new curriculum with Teaching Practice I and II has been set up. Student teachers come to know for the first time what it means to be a teacher when they are called by that title. In order for teaching practice to be fruitful, not only the English ability of student teachers, but also their flexibility, creativity, and diverse abilities are required. First of all, in order to give a lesson that students understand, student teachers must have the ability to understand the students. The test for this is whether one knows oneself or not. Thus, fruitful practice teaching can be said to depend on self-awareness and self-evaluation. Practice teaching is the time when students can verify what they can and cannot do under given conditions, that is, in the triple aspect of reality-real time, real students, and real context. Student teachers are expected to appreciate the two beautiful and important weeks of practice in which they can share the work of developing in teenagers the power to live the present and the future by giving themselves entirely to their students. It goes without saying that this is the time when students are expected to establish their own teaching methods prior to undertaking actual teaching.
