The author criticized the Luria-Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery, a standardized test of higher function of the brain, in terms of both general and technical features. The nature and purpose of the test is to administer a standardized individual test and clinical test for the diagnisis of brain damage. This test can distinguish normal from brain damage, psychiatric disorder from brain damage, and define the area and laterality of the damaged hemisphere. The norm of the test is 15 years old or over. The time required to administer is less than 2.5 hours. The rest has 269 items and 11 basic subsummary scores. Interrater reliability is 95%, with .99 to .99 correlation. Split-half reliability is .88 to .95. Test-retest reliability is .77 to .86. Criterion related validation, content validation, and constructive validation is discussed.
