Through the use of questionnaires, this study examined the professional model of nursery teachers and nursery teaching students' conception of this model. The sample for this study consisted of two groups; 95 first year students and 124 second year students of the Department of Early Childhood Education. The result shows that students' image of nursery teachers is proscribed by general dispositional qualities such as a tendency to be smiling, gentle, and cheerful. Moreover, students rated nursery teachers' professional knowledge and skills as poor. These findings suggest that nursery teaching schools need to improve their student teacher programs.
