The date of the part on the 7th is written down for about ten years from May 23, Showa 23 to October 10, Showa 35, and a "suntan note" is a note which recorded the glaze recipe of the daily use used by the Kanjiro sutudio those days. There is never much what wrote together the date in the data offered from the commemoration hall in Kyoto. The about 20-page precious booklet which can specify the operation period of a note by the writing of a date. It is the intense booklet of a bruise to the whole -- it is used in a studio and deterioration of the paper by suntan and the torn page actually remain. The reason which this named the "suntan note" Kawahara named. Later, it is also the booklet which became the cause to result in compilation of a "glaze preparation book" for the purpose of management and preservation of a glaze recipe. The new page about which it can hear having written down is in description, it being intelligible and explaining one of the glaze preparation methods "枡あわせ (the wet preparing method)" to a apprentice of those days. Although other booklets have the description of the preparing method by "枡あわせ", and record of glaze recipe by traditional weights and measures, there are no description and record which explained the wet preparing method plainly. A large-sized photo album is used for a "glaze preparation book" instead of a note, and "It went into the Kawai family at the time of marriage with Kanjiro's daughter in Showa 21" ("Hirotsugu Kawai biographical sketch") -- the booklet with which Hirotsugu Kawai who describes edited the note which uses suntan note" in studio, and the "glaze preparation book" for the purpose of making a role share with the note for management/preservation. The director of a commemoration hall and Mr. Toshitaka Kawai tell. All the recipes of the glaze fundamentally described into a "suntan note" are copied to a "glaze preparation book." Naturally, the contents of description are booklets which are the easiest to read and are easy to understand among the data of several volumes which were arranged and tidied up and received offer from the commemoration hall. The booklet which plays the central role of "research of the glaze of Kanjiro." the contents of description -- "白釉 (transparent glaze)" -8 kinds, "青磁 (celadon porcelain)" -3 kind, "辰砂 (copper red glaze)" -5 kind, "呉洲 (blue pigment)" -1 kind, and "鉄釉 (iron glaze)" -8 kind, "打ちけか釉 (striking glaze)" -4 kind, "スリップウエア- (slip wear)" -4 kind, and "上の間用低火度釉 (lower temperature glaze for upper chamber of claiming kiln)" -7 kind, 練り上げ土 (for marbling clay ) " -4 kind, "泥描用土 (slip trailing)" -1 kind, total 10 group, and 45 kinds of glaze describe.
