Supposing that a musical work acquires its proper existential style based on, and stimulated by, the specific characteristics of a musical idea, we can imagine that some concrete analogies must exist on different levels between this musical idea and various systems (harmony, melodic elements, rhythm etc.) as well as personal ecriture. The immediate purpose of this essay is to confirm the above-mentioned process, putting aside, for a while, existing conceptions of form, style and method, and analyzing the various structures of musical works exclusively in the light of their analogies to their underlying musical ideas. A concrete hypothesis should be obtainable through the verification of the analogies between the characteristics projected from a musical idea and the peculiarities perceived in the structures of its musical parts. A coordinated relationship should be found between the musical idea and the whole, if this hypothesis is applied and verified throughout a whole work. This attempt is also intended to prove the absolute peculiarity and unreproducibility of a musical work: an attempt whose goal is the very opposite to a search for applicable methods, or to a statistical study of styles and methods. The final purpose of this kind of attempt - or what is waiting for us after such a study - would be a statement on imagination, order and freedom. Thus, to verify a coordinative relationship on the basis of analogy is merely an "immediate" purpose. Provided that the peculiarities of musical ideas suggest their own methods and styles, it must be verified, first, that each musical work has its own forming process which corresponds to the peculiarity of its musical idea, by means of taking plural works not a single work - as objects of study. This essay is, therefore, designed as an introduction to a series through a musical piece - <Prelude op. 28-17> by F.Chopin. This is analyzed and studied here mainly from the viewpoint of harmony and melodic elements.
