The currint design wind load for the structural design is nothing but the wind load which is determined from the wind tunnel expreriments on the isolated building. However, such a case is rare in actual cases, and ordinarily a house is located comparatively close to the adjacent houses. Naturally, the pressure distribution over such a house is different from the isolated one. The wind load for such house in group of houses is entirely different, hence, the stress analysis should be coordinated and the plot plan of buildings is to be properly adjusted. For this reason, series of wind tunnel experiments on buildings which are located side-by-side both in X and Y directions with various relative distauces and with and without openings in windword building, as a port of a group of houses, ond the pressure distribution is measured. The results show that, for the structural design purposes, in order to avoid the severe loading on a particular building, it is necessary to keep: 1) In ridge direction (X-direction), the minimun required separation of twice the height of the windward building, while. 2) In beam direction (Y-direction). 0.5 times the height of the windward building. The wind load coefficient of each building face is studied experimentally.
