• The structures should have the mechanisms with ductile elements failure when the structures are suffered from the over design loads. Then the target reliability index for the brittle failure elements should be bigger than the reliability index for the ductile failure elements. But the behaviors after brittle elements failure are different from ductile elements failure, the system reliability analysis is useful for target reliability index. In this paper, using β -unzipping method and D-value method, the target reliability index for 6-story 6-span structure with brittle failure elements is estimated.
