A cross sectional observation of an optical fiber has been used to measure the position and the size of a central core. In this study, simple method of the core detection is proposed with a microscopic observation in transverse to an optical fiber. From the results of the computer simulation, the position of a core is identified from the position of a bright sharp fringe appearing in the transverse observation.
