The central theme of this paper is the role of Global Media in the age of globalization. In the opening years of 21st century, we are launched on a process of profound and irreversible transformation. It's an era of macroshift. The macroshift is all-embracing, rapid and irreversible, extending to the far corners of the globe and involving practically all aspects of life. It harbors great promise as well as grave danger. Global journalism is also drifting in turbulent waters. It must play a leading role in overcoming the crash of civilizations and promoting the stability of our world by revealing important facts and reporting the truth. In order to meet this unprecedented challenge, it must update the way it perceives the world. It must perceive the challenges that await us and develop the vision for coping with them. The greatest truth is to find a unity in the very diversity which seems to separate us. What prospects are ahead for the media? Those issues concering the global media are to be discussed from the civilizational viewpoint and historical perspective.
