Existence of significant differences in annual changes of urban climate between climatological stations in Osaka and in Kyoto is discussed. Urban warming effect reaches peak in summer in Osaka for daily mean and daily maximum temperatures, and there is practically no annual change in daily minimum temperature. However, in Kyoto urban warming effect reaches peak in winter for daily mean and daily minimum temperatures and there is no annual change in daily maximum temperature. Decrease in relative humidity by urban effect reaches maximum in summer in Osaka, but in winter in Kyoto. The features mentioned above lasted at least the past half century but magnitudes of these change with time.
