A new deep water cypraeid, Notadusta omii, is described from Tosa, Shikoku, Japan. In connection with this description, Notadusta katsuae and N. musumea are reviewed. The new species is morphologically most similar to Notadusta musumea Kuroda & Habe in Habe, 1961, however, both species can be separated by the color of anterior and posterior extremities, openness of aperture, length of denticles and other differences. It also resembles Notadusta katsuae (Kuroda, 1960), but is easily distinguished by its unstained denticles, and distinct fossula. Since the new species has been widely treated under the name of N. musmea, much of taxonomic confusion occurred among three species of Notadusta.
