The stress intensity factor for a central crack in the strip of different stiffness causing boundaries in it is numerically investigated by means of the finite element method. The stress and the crack opening displacement around a crack tip are calculated. Discussions are made on the calculated results by comparing with the stress and the displacement of crack vicinity in linear fracture mechanics. The values of crack tip stress intensity factor can be obtained by the finite element method. The obtained values are ascertained to be quite conformable to those offered in Isida's solution. Thereby the method which introduces the values in question is considered to be valid as a way to obtain the stress intensity factor for a central crack in the strip of different stiffness causing boundaries in it.
