There has been lot of research work in the literature to improve the throughput of WLANs using Link adaptation. The focus of which is concerning unicast links where each link adapts its data rate separately depending on channel conditions of transmitter and individual receiver. Multicast links, on the other hand, requires adaptation on the entire multicast transmission data rate depending on the channel conditions of all receivers in the multicast group.
