This paper discusses the capability of the conventional multi-tier and an integrated micro-cellular network in supporting smooth handover for fast-moving terminals (FMTs). In the integrated micro-cellular network, high speed packet transfer even to fast terminals is provided over the micro-cellular network along roads. One of the advantages of the unified micro-cellular network is its potential in offering more resource than multi-tier network. According to our evaluation in this paper, the integrated micro-cellular network can support 500 times more channel than multi-tier system does. It is considered to be a good design based on the future demands of mobile multimedia communications.
