In study of education for deaf and hard of hearing children, the concern with epistemology of hearing impairment has been growing for the last several years. We can see many discussions in scholarly associations and papers. However, it is a fact that there are two basic misunderstandings in the usage this conception. The first misunderstanding is a mixing two conceptions, the epistemology of hearing impairment and acceptance of disability as a same idea. The second misunderstanding is a negative reaction to the idea of epistemology of hearing impairment for reason the usage the first misunderstanding. The purpose of this article is to analyze the logic of two misunderstandings and arrive at a corrected explanation of the conception of epistemology of hearing impairment.
