In recent years, low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes have been extensively studied due to their remarkable performance over the AWGN channel. More recently, LDPC codes have been considered also for other channels such as the binary erasure channel and the burst erasure channel. In this paper, we investigate the performance of cyclic LDPC codes over burst error channels and propose a simple decoding method for them.
