The suitable number of fixtures in a given washroom must be determined based on how heavily the washroom is put to use. The extent of the use of a washroom in turn depends on how often the people in the vicinity of the washroom feel the necessity to use it. Even the use of washroom sinks, as well as that of WCs and urinals, is necessitated as a result of physiological act of excretion. We have conducted experiments on micturition using human subjects in order to collect basic date in view of elucidating the calculating methods to determine the suitable number of fixtures in a given washroom. In this paper we have reviewed the results of experiments in terms of the volume of water evaporation from the human body, the volume of excreted urine, the volume of urine generated in given time, and how long a person can hold his bladders before he needs to use a urinal. In addition to the said basic date, it become clear from the results of experiments that RMR plays an important volume of generated urine was in the range of 1.29〜2.97 ml/min.
