The flux penetration and trapping behavior in superconducting YBa_2Cu_3O_X films were observed quantitatively by means of magneto-optical Faraday effect of the iron garnet films. A Bi substituted iron garnet film with large Faraday rotation and perpendicular magnetization was prepared by LPE method. The observation was done for both the square and the disk shaped YBa_2Cu_3O_X films. The behavior of the flux penetration depends on the defect and shape of the films. It was confirmed that the flux density distribution in the superconducting film observed by the domain patterns was nearly equal to one estimated from magnetization. A critical current that calculated from the results of the flux density distribution was the same order of magnitude as that obtained using the Bean's critical state model from measurement of the magnetization.
